Description

Pen, inkpad, watercolor, pencil, blood, and white gel pen on paper.

"The show would only come to town
In the middle of the night,
and even then, the sun would come
Crashing in as glaciers,
The vast oceans of her eyes overcome
By wonder of what we'd seen.

Only then in the morning would I know.
And especially then I'd hold on tight;
Not out of fear, but love.
And even then, I'd wait and see
That the highwire would stay taut,
If tides would pull me back to shore,
To her-

But there was never a doubt in my mind - never -
That this wasn't our forgotten circus."

This is an interesting piece. All the elements of a circus are represented by symbols, which is a great touch. The composition serves to evoke meaning into the piece. I like how the curtains are lopsided, pointing to the purpose you wanted to convey for this picture. The upside down balloons also serve to this purpose.
The coloring was well done, and the unfinished edges only help your picture! The writing in the middle gives this informal tone, sharing the inspiration with your viewers. What I like most about this picture is the sequins, although they seem to be not only on stage but on the curtains as well, which seems a bit too spread in my opinion.
Overall, this is a job well done. You have a lot of interesting pieces in your gallery, so keep it up! <img src="e.deviantart.net/emoticons/b/b…" width="15" height="15" alt=":D" data-embed-type="emoticon" data-embed-id="366" title=":D (Big Grin)"/>
